Biarritz are hoping to transfer their recent Top 14 form into this weekend's Amlin Challenge Cup semi-final against Brive. The Basque outfit have won five of their last six games, and boosted their chances of avoiding relegation from the French top flight with a 22-13 victory at home to Racing Metro on Saturday. They now turn their attention to the Amlin Challenge Cup, with a place in the final up for grabs if they can topple Brive in the semis - especially as winning the Amlin title offers them a way back into the Heineken Cup next season.
"We did a good job at the weekend against Racing to improve our chances of staying in the Top 14 but the job is still not done," said flanker Benoit Guyot, whose side sit five points clear of the relegation zone with two league games left to play.
"Now we are fully focussed on producing something special in the Amlin Challenge Cup. Winning the Amlin is the only way for us to get a Heineken Cup ticket for next year."We also want to win this title as a thank you to (legendary France prop) Sylvain Marconnet who finishes his career at the end of the year.
"We definitely aren't taking this competition lightly because it's the only way for us to finish the season well - a season which started very badly."
